Why Census 2020 is important for advancing racial equity in the region

A complete and accurate Census 2020 count is critical for advancing racial equity in our region. Communities of color, immigrants, young children, low-income communities, and rural communities are historically “undercounted” in the Census. It is estimated that more than 55,000 individuals were “undercounted” in the Washington, DC region in 2010.

The philanthropic, nonprofit, private and public sectors in the Washington, DC region are working together to ensure a complete and accurate count in the region. For more information on Census 2020, please see the following resources:
